The MPSA Awards program recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of our club members. We present awards to Male and Female Players of the Year, with Youth awards being added this year in addition to the Senior awards, Coach, Team, and Official of the Year, as well as Volunteer and Alumni of the Year.

Awards Information (Nominations)

MPSA accepts nominations for all awards following the close of our current season (September - October).

 

RULES FOR NOMINATION

  • Nominations must be made in one of the specified categories
  • Nominees for the awards must be a MPSA member in good standing 

  • Awards are considered for outstanding performance or series of performances in the year of the nomination - it is not based on a history of performance or achievements

  • Nominations may be made by members of MPSA (players, parent/guardian of a registered minor player under the age of 19, coaching staff, executive members, officials, or a previously elected executive member of MPSA.)

  • The final decision regarding nominations and eligibility will rest with the MPSA Award Selection Committee, which is comprised of several Alumni members.

 

GUIDELINES FOR NOMINATIONS

  • Include only information pertaining to the past year’s activities (one year only)
  • Outline achievements in point form and expand when necessary

  • Include a digital photograph of the nominee

 

NOMINATION CATEGORIES

  • Neil Bodman Youth Male Player of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a male player (age 18 or younger) who demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit leadership, skill, and talent that have brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.
  • Dave LeGrow Youth Female Player of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a female player (age 18 or younger) who demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit leadership, skill, and talent that have brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.

  • Senior Male Player of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a male player (age 19 or older) who demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit leadership, skill, and talent that have brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.

  • Senior Female Player of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a male player (age 19 or older) who demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit leadership, skill, and talent that have brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.

  • Coach of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a coach who demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit leadership and skill, design and deliver effective and engaging training and experience success during the season that has brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.

  • Team of the Year: This award recognizes and honors a Metro, PYL, or Senior League team that demonstrated excellence on and off the field.  They exhibit a commitment to training, growth, and development of their skills, and success during the season that has brought positive attention to MPSA.  Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 training year are considered.

  • Official of the Year: This award recognizes and honors an MPSA official for exemplary performance in officiating for our Club, Metro, and/or PYL Leagues.  They exhibit leadership, a thorough understanding of the rules of the game, and strong communication skills. Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 year are considered.

  • Volunteer of the Year: This award recognizes and honors an MPSA Parent, Player, member of the Coaching Staff, Board member, or Alumni who through their contributions, has brought positive attention to MPSA and helped build a stronger Association. Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 year are considered.

  • Alumni of the Year: This award recognizes and honors an Alumni who made significant contributions to MPSA and the community bringing positive attention to MPSA. Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 year are considered.

  • Achievement Award: This award recognizes and honors an individual member for their performance and/or their contribution to the success of their team or the association or a team for their performance and contribution to our Club and/or community. Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 year are considered. 

  • Recognition Award: This award recognizes and honors a member of MPSA who exhibits commitment and determination through their contributions to soccer and our club. It is about celebrating the joy of the soccer experience and demonstrating values such as fairness, dedication, respect, and fun. Please keep in mind that only achievements during the Fall 2022 - Summer 2023 year are considered.
